I have a scratch in my solid surface countertop, how can I remove it?
For minor surface scratches we recommend using a Grey Scotch-Brite Pad. Buff entire surface of the countertop in a circular motion. Buffing select areas will cause the finish to look uneven, so make sure you do the entire countertop surface.
For more severe scratches and deep gouges, we recommend having the top professionally sanded. We work with a vacuum sander to keep the mess to a minimum and can usually complete the job in a couple hours. Contact a sales representative for more information on pricing and availablity.
How long does it take to get new countertops?
The average countertop will take about 3 weeks from the time of order to the time of installation. This may vary depending on the complexity of the countertop and our current workload.
Do my old countertops need to be removed before you take measurements?
No, unlike some fabricators that leave you without tops or a sink for weeks; our digital templating system allows us to leave your existing tops in place until we come to install your new countertops.
I heard you can't put hot pans on a solid surface countertop, is this true?
Yes, this is true; the thermal shock and expansion can cause cracking. Yet, this is true with any countertop surface available....aside from solid concrete. We never recommend taking a hot pan from your cooktop and setting it directly on any countertop surface unless you use a trivet.
Can you tear out my old countertops?
Absolutely. We can remove and haul off your existing countertops on the same day as the installation. The price for tearouts depend on the type of countertop being removed, please speak to a sales representative for pricing.
Will you connect my plumbing and cooktop when you install the countertops?
No, unfortunately we are not licensed in plumbing, gas, or electrical and we can not connect these types of items. Since the typical installation takes a few hours, a plumber or electrician is usually scheduled after our installation on the same day.
